Overview
The Alleo Interactive Agent is a Windows application allowing users to share control of a source PC via the Alleo Screen share and Live video objects. This article provides instructions on the Alleo Interactive Agent installation and using the Alleo Interactive Agent.
Prerequisites
- Windows 10/11 system with Display (that meets minimum resource requirements).
- Interactive live video requires the Alleo Rooms application.
How to install the Alleo Interactive Agent
The Alleo Interactive Agent can be downloaded via the following instructions when the capability is enabled for your organization.

Downloading the app:
- Login to an Alleo board.
- Add a Screen Share object to the board and start sharing or cancel.
- Select the Screen Share object.
- In the Context menu, click the '?' button.
- Click "Download Agent."
Installing the app

Double-click the Alleo Interactive Agent MSI file to start the installation process.

Select the default options to complete the installation process.
- You can optionally launch the application as part of the last step.
Updating the app
The Alleo Interactive Agent app will check for updates when launching the application. To check for updates, simply close the app and reopen it.
Note: the Alleo Interactive Agent is set to launch when Windows starts by default. For more information on managing Windows startup applications, click here.
Allow users to control my PC via Screen Share
The “Sharing User” is defined as the user who installed the Alleo Interactive Agent and will be the source of the Screen Share. The “Controlling User” is defined as the user or Alleo Rooms display that will control the Sharing User’s PC via the Screen Share object.

Sharing User
- Open an Alleo board and allow other users to join the board.
- Add an Interactive Screenshare object via the Interactive Screenshare button in the Live Content section of the Tools Menu.
- When prompted to select the contents of your screen, select the “Entire Screen” tab, select your primary monitor, and then select “Share” to start sharing your screen. Note: it must be the system's primary display.
- When the share starts, the object will display the code on top of the object with a "copy" icon. Simply click the copy icon to copy the code to your clipboard.
- Note: the stream will display a semi-transparent black overlay behind the code; this is only visible to the person who is sharing the screen; other users will not see the overlay.
- On the Interactive Agent, simply click the paste button or enter the code into the Alleo Interactive Agent and press the "Submit" button. The application will automatically minimize to the system tray and notify the user of the successful connection.
- Select the desired users to provide control of your system via the users icon in the asset context menu. You can press the "Stop sharing" button to end the screen control session.
- Note: you can alternatively click the "Stop Sharing" button in the notification at the upper right portion of the Alleo board.
Take control of another user's PC via Screen Share
When the Sharing User has delegated access, you can take control of the Sharing User's system.

Controlling User
- When access has been provided, the Controlling user will see the “Take control” button on the Screen Share object.
- Select the “Take control” button to take control of the Sharing User’s Screen Share. While you have control access, the following features are available:
- Keyboard and cursor commands (including touch) are passed to the Sharing User's system.
- Drawing and the snapshot features are available in the asset context menu.
- You can press the "End control" button to finish the interaction.
- If another user is controlling, the user's avatar is visible.
Allow users to control an HDMI-connected PC
The “Sharing User” is defined as the user who installed the Alleo Interactive Agent, and the Sharing User's PC will be the HDMI-connected Live Video source. The “Controlling User” is defined as the user or Alleo Rooms display that will control the Sharing User’s PC. Live video control must be initiated from an Alleo Rooms display.
Live video input configuration
The live input settings are remembered for each live input on a capture card device. Therefore, an admin can add a live video object to the board, configure it once, and the setting will be remembered.

- On the Alleo Rooms display, add a live video object to the board by dragging the "Add Live Video" button from the tools menu.
- Select the HDMI input associated with your device.

Click the advanced section.
- Select the resolution from the Resolution dropdown.
- You can rename the input by typing a name in the "Customize device label" field.
- Check the "Is interactive" checkbox to enable control for the selected device.
- Click OK.
- The Live video stream will start. You can stop the video by pressing the stop button in the middle of the object. The settings are available via the "Video input settings" button in the context menu.

Sharing User
On the Alleo Rooms display:
- If there is no pre-existing live video object, add one to the board via the Tools menu.
- Select the live video input associated with the HDMI-connected PC.
- Click the "Connect to agent" button.
- The live video object will now show the registration code. Enter the registration code on your PC and click the submit button.
On the HDMI-connected PC:
- Enter the code into the Alleo Interactive Agent and press "Submit."
- You can click the "End Control" to prevent further control. You can also click the 'X' button in the upper right, and the app will run minimized in the system tray.
On the Alleo Rooms display:
- Click the "Start sharing" button.
- Similarly to controlling the Screen Share PC, you can click the "Take Control" button to control the HDMI-connected PC.
- You can also select the Users button to delegate access to the HDMI-connected PC. When a user has a checkbox to the left of the name, the Take Control button will be available to the associated user.
Configuring the Alleo Interactive Agent with a registration code
Devices that are always connected to the capture card can be configured with a registration code for permanent access. This is beneficial because the front-end user no longer needs to enter a code. An Org Administrator can obtain the code via the following instructions:
- As an Org Admin user, login to the web admin and navigate to the Alleo Rooms section.
- Select the “⋮” submenu associated with the display containing that will receive the HDMI-connected PC's video signal.
- Select Interactive Agent Registration.
- Click "Add Registration."
- Name the Agent Registration.
- Copy the Registration code.

Entering the registration code into the Alleo Interactive Agent
On the live video source, simply open the Alleo Interactive Agent, enter the registration key, and press the "X" button to minimize the agent to the system tray.

You can remove the code to temporarily end control or entirely clear the code so it is no longer stored in the Alleo Interactive Agent application.'

Live video input configuration
When configuring the live input for an HDMI-connected PC containing a permanent registration code, you must select the agent name in the live input settings.

Now that the input settings and Alleo Interactive Agent have been configured, users can interact with the PC without entering a code.
